Oriental Rug Cleaning Basics

Oriental rug cleaning is not the same as cleaning traditional rugs. While cheaper oriental rugs may be cleaned with a carpet shampooer, more expensive rugs will require hand cleaning. To clean your oriental rug at home, start by pre-treating any set in stains that may be on the rug. Pre-treat the rug at least 24 hours in advance. When cleaning day comes, start by vacuuming the rug at least two times to remove and deep set dirt and debris. If you have a smaller oriental rug, cleaning may be performed inside the home. For larger rugs, consider moving the job to outside. After vacuuming, you can use a soft brush and detergent to clean. More info: oriental rug cleaning Bay Area
